Car Warranties Give Security for the Summer Driving Season

Car Warranties Give Security for the SummerSometimes called an "extended warranty", a service contract is a promise to perform (or pay for) certain repairs or services. Although technically not a “warranty” as defined by federal law, service contracts may be arranged at any time and always costs extra. Warranties, on the other hand, ONLY come with a new car and are included in the original price. Vehicle service contracts are popularly referred to as "extended auto warranties" or "extended warranties". Use of the term "extended warranty" or "warranty" on this site is intended to refer to vehicle service contracts and not manufacturer's warranties.

Summer is just around the corner, and that means millions of Americans will be hitting the road for vacations. As their mileage is racked-up, many cars will be out of factory warranty before the season’s out, putting their owners at risk to pay large repair bills out of pocket. Along with the map or navigation system, a car warranty should also be along for the ride.

Summer is the time to go new places and see new things, which can mean a lot of driving. A good number of Americans will drive in excess of 4000 miles in a few short months. In many cases, the factory warranty people rely on for vehicle protection will expire, leaving them unprotected against major repair bills. The additional stress of constant driving means a greater likelihood of breakdown. If that happens when a family is far from home, the problems of finding a trustworthy shop add to the holiday horrors.

To avoid that scenario, thousands of Americans will be investing in an auto warranty, which can be used in every state, at any licensed repair shop. Brokers such as AA Auto Protection offer hundreds of plans for all budgets. With the security of a car warranty, you and your family can concentrate on seeing the sites, rather than seeing the inside of an unfamiliar repair shop.
