Going on a baseball roadtrip with an extended car warranty
Sometimes called an "extended warranty", a service contract is a promise to perform (or pay for) certain repairs or services. Although technically not a “warranty” as defined by federal law, service contracts may be arranged at any time and always costs extra. Warranties, on the other hand, ONLY come with a new car and are included in the original price. Vehicle service contracts are popularly referred to as "extended auto warranties" or "extended warranties". Use of the term "extended warranty" or "warranty" on this site is intended to refer to vehicle service contracts and not manufacturer's warranties.
There's nothing like chilling at a ballpark, munching nachos or hotdogs while watching nine innings. So for those who don't have plans yet this summer, a baseball roadtrip to all 30 major league ballparks -- or a few favorites along the route -- would be something to consider. But before baseball fans hit the road, they better get an extended auto warranty to make sure that their trip would be as fun as catching fly balls.
Many dedicated baseball fans go on a baseball pilgrimage every year to watch the boys of summer take the field each night. And some of them take the extreme challenge of visiting 30 MLB stadiums in a single season. The trip is no joke -- imagine a 40-day marathon at breakneck speed and the money one would have to spend to finish the adventure. But the bragging rights that come with will surely be priceless.
There are a couple of websites that can help baseball fans plan for the trip. including ESPN's "Baseball Road Trip Planner" and Baseball-Roadtrip.com. ESPN has several useful features. Aside from the trip itself, it has scrollable schedules by city or by league to make planning more manageable. The Baseball-roadtrip.com, meanwhile, has a very simple interface that can plot courses based on input dates and starting points.
Road-trippers should anticipate that car glitches may occur along the way. But this could be the least of their worries. With all the extensive preparation needed for this adventure, there's no better way to ensure a smooth, fun-filled baseball roadtrip than having an extended auto warranty.
