Cancellations
Warranty cancellations more than 30 days
after purchase date:
To process your cancellation we will need the following
documentation:
1. A letter from you indicating that you want to cancel
your warranty, and the reason. Email or fax are not
acceptable. This letter must be an original, must be
dated, and must be signed by you. Please also include
your phone number, current email address in case we
need to contact you, and current mailing address for
your refund.
2. The "declarations" or "registration"
or "application" page of your original warranty
contract where you, your vehicle and your warranty plan
are identified. Please write "cancel" and
your signature across this page. (Some warranties also
include a separate booklet describing coverage. You
need not send back the booklet; just send the registration
page marked "cancel" and signed.)
3. One of the following for proof of mileage:
a. If you traded in or sold your vehicle
to a dealer, a copy of the odometer statement that
the dealer is required by law to provide to you.
b. If your vehicle was declared a total
loss by an insurance company, a copy of the "total
loss" letter from the insurance company, indicating
the mileage on the vehicle at the time of loss.
c. If you are canceling your warranty
for any other reason, or if no other independent third-party
proof of mileage is available, a notarized statement
by you of the current mileage or the mileage at the
time of sale or disposition. This must be an original
document, and you must sign it in the presence of
a notary public.
4. Marathon Product Warranties come with
a lubricant additive which must be returned with cancellation
paper work to avoid being assessed a $75 fee. This fee
can be found in your contract and will be deducted from
any refund that is due to you.
5. Secure Choice, Great Choice, Direct Choice, Cool
Choice and Best Choice warranties become ineligible
for a refund 60 days after purchase. These warranties
come with an activation kit of automotive additive products
to be used in your vehicle. If you do not return all
of the products unused and sealed in their original
packaging, $100.00 will be deducted from your refund
to cover the cost of the products.

Once we have received all of your cancellation documentation
your warranty will be canceled according to the "cancellation"
provisions of the warranty contract. Please read and
understand the "cancellation" section of your
warranty contract before beginning the cancellation
process. Some warranties do not allow cancellations
after an initial grace period.
In most cases the cancellation refund you receive will
be based upon the original purchase price prorated by
either the unused time or unused mileage remaining on
the warranty, less any claims paid or claims-related
expenses, less insurance fees, less administrative fees,
less the warranty administrator's cancellation fees
if any, less the AAAutoWarranty cancellation processing
fee. If you bought your warranty using a payment plan,
the payment plan administrator's processing fee and
any payments not made will also be deducted. If significant
claims against your warranty have been paid, your refund
may be little or zero. Allow 90 days to receive your
cancellation refund, commencing on the date we have
received all required documentation.
IMPORTANT:
(a.) The day you contacted us, we began the warranty
cancellation process for you by establishing your pending
cancellation effective date, notifying the warranty
administrator, etc. To keep that pending cancellation
date we must receive your cancellation documents within
14 days of this email. If your cancellation documents
have not arrived in 14 days, your cancellation will
be effective the date we receive your documents.
(b.) If you bought your warranty using a payment plan,
we can not stop the payments until we receive your cancellation
documentation. DO NOT attempt to cancel by just stopping
your payments. That will result in the warranty being
canceled by the payment plan administrator for non-payment,
making it ineligible for a refund.
(c.) If you are NOT returning your warranty contract
either because you have not yet received it or because
it is no longer in your possession, please say so in
your letter.
(d.) If your warranty came with an activation kit and
you are not returning it, please say so in your letter.
We will request delivery confirmation before processing
your refund.
