How new and used car extended
service contracts work:
1. How can you offer such complete
auto repair service contract coverage at such an affordable
price?
We are able to offer comprehensive new and used car
extended service contracts, as well as extended SUV
service contract and truck service contract coverage
at such an affordable price for several reasons:
• We work directly for the warranty
companies. We do not offer new and used car extended
service contracts or extended SUV service contract
and truck service contract plans through automobile
dealerships or any other 3 party that would require
adding a large commission to your contract.
• High volume business and economies of scale
of a large company like ours allow us to offer you
lower prices.
• Doing business online via e-commerce and the
Internet lowers our expenses compared to companies
that maintain multiple physical storefronts.
• We pass all these savings on to you!

2. What is the procedure if I need to file a claim on
my new or used car service contract?
Getting repaired and back on the road is so simple.
If your vehicle breaks down or is in need of a repair,
take it or have it towed to any licensed repair facility
and present your service contract agreement to the Service
Department. After they diagnose the problem with the
vehicle, they will call our claims administrator toll-free
for authorization for your covered repairs less a deductible
where applicable. Our administrator pays all covered
claims directly to the repair facility of your choice
with a check, therefore, you do not have to pay for
your repair and wait to get reimbursed. It is that simple.
Repair facilities are paid quickly and efficiently over
the phone via corporate credit card.
 |
 |
3. Where are the contracts for new and used car extended
service contracts honored?
You’re able to use your service contract at any
licensed repair facility that agrees to work on your
vehicle, and agrees to be paid by credit card.. You
have the option of taking your vehicle to your dealership
or any ASE certified repair facility nationwide. Additionally,
your new and used car extended service contract plan
is accepted at national repair facilities such as Pep
Boys, Firestone, AAMCO, and All Tune and Lube as well
many others.
 |
 |
4. Do I have to go back to my original dealer for repairs
under my new or used car extended service contracts,
or extended SUV service contract or truck service contract?
It's 100% your decision! Take your vehicle to your original
dealer, another dealer or an approved national repair
facility. With all of our nationwide auto repair service
contracts plans that we offer, your choices are endless.
You can take your vehicle to the licensed repair facility
that makes you most comfortable. This includes, but
is not limited to, your original dealer, your favorite
repair facility, or any national repair facilities such
as: Cottman, Pep Boys, Firestone, and Good Year.
 |
 |
5. What happens if my dealer does not want to accept
the nationwide new and used car service contract plan?
Most Dealerships appreciate our business. They have
no reason not to accept the new and used car extended
service contract, extended SUV service contract or truck
service contract policies offered by us. Our administrator
pays the recommended price for parts and labor for all
covered repairs. The industry standard-pricing guides
used by your dealership determine the cost of the repair:
the Chilton and Mitchell parts and labor guides. Plus,
the administrators pay all claims directly to the repair
facility of your choice when the repair order is faxed
to the administrator. And then your claim quickly and
efficiently over the phone via corporate credit card.
 |
 |
6. How can I be assured that my new and used car extended
service contract claims will be paid in the future?
All extended service contracts that we offer are directly
insured, and the administrators maintain a future claims
reserve for all policies to covered repair costs. A
percentage of premiums paid by all new and used car
extended service contract holders are deposited into
an account that is used strictly to pay future claims.
7. Can you please explain how the deductible on the
new and used car extended service contracts, as well
as the SUV extended service contracts and truck service
contracts work?
In may cases, the standard deductible is $100, with
options to reduce it. The deductible is the amount that
the customer is responsible to pay to the repair facility.
The deductible is per visit, not per separate repair.
8. Are you the American Automobile Association (AAA)?
No, we are in no way affiliated with the American Automobile
Association. You can reach them at 1-800-763-9900. AAA
is a term often used as a rating reference for the highest
credit rating (ie Standard & Poor’s, Moody
and Fitch) and our company name is derived from that.

 |
9. When does my new and used car extended service contract
or extended SUV service contract and truck service contract
begin and expire?
Immediate Coverage:
Unlike our competition, AAautoProtection.com does not
require a vehicle inspection on vehicles still under
factory warranty or the typical 30-day and 1,000-mile
waiting period before coverage begins. Most used vehicles
are required to pass a mechanical inspection before
purchasing a service contract. Your coverage begins
on the service contract's purchase date, not the Vehicle's
"in-service" date. However, pre-existing conditions
are not covered by anyone's policy - regardless of where
or when it is purchased.
Some of our used extended car service contracts begins
30 days and 1,000 miles from the date of enrollment.
(Call us for details)
Expiration dates vary by the new or used car extended
warranty plan and coverage you select.
* Beware of other companies and dealer programs
that begin their new and used car extended service contracts
and extended SUV service contracts and truck service
contracts programs on your vehicle's in-service date.*

 |
10. Who insures the new and used car extended service
contract programs offered by AAautoProtection.com?
All extended service contracts that we offer are directly
insured by carriers, and authorized for sale department
of insurance. We only offer the most secure direct insured
policies and none of the service contract companies
we represent are backed by risk retension groups (RRGs).
Please see our Contracts page for specific details on
the insurance carrier for each policy.

rating for claims is 99% and you have a financially

 |
 |
12. What is true bumper-to-bumper coverage?
True bumper-to-bumper coverage is always ‘exclusionary’
coverage. This means that everything on a vehicle is
covered excluding certain items such as maintenance,
trim items like moldings, weather-stripping, etc. However,
in recent years, some service contract companies have
begun using the term “bumper-to-bumper”
much more liberally in an effort to apparently give
consumers the impression that they are receiving more
coverage than they actually are. You will be happy to
know that AAautoProtection.com does not use the term
in that fashion. Our Max or “Bumper to Bumper”
plans are true exclusionary coverage and is most like
your vehicle’s original bumper-to-bumper service
contract.

 |
13. How is the deductible applied? Per item, per repair
visit, etc.?
Your deductible is applied per repair visit. This means
that regardless of the number of items that need repair,
you will only pay your deductible once per repair visit.
You may also select a $200.00 deductible option on certain
plans if you would like additional savings when you
purchase your service agreement.
14. What do I do when I experience a problem with my
vehicle? How is a claim processed? Where can I go to
have my vehicle repaired?
Take your vehicle to any licensed repair facility. (Any
auto dealership, repair shop or private mechanic of
your choice).
a. Allow the repair facility to diagnose
your vehicle
b. Have the repair facility contact the claims center
at a toll-free number that is provided to you on the
contract.
c. The claims center will authorize all covered repairs,
less your deductible, if any.
d. Once the repairs are done to your satisfaction,
the claims department will pay the repair facility
with a corporate credit card. In some cases only you
can be reimbursed by the claims department. Please
see your service contract policy for specific details.

 |
22. What is Wear and Tear coverage?
Wear and Tear coverage means that parts do not have
to break for you to be covered. Should a part or component
wear out prematurely it is covered. Wear is defined
as “can no longer perform the function for which
it was designed solely because of its condition".
When the part or component has worn beyond the manufacturer's
tolerances allowed for a particular vehicle at the mileage
when the problem occurs the part or component is covered.
Parts that are considered “normal maintenance”
parts are not covered under a Wear and Tear option.
These would be items like brake pads, shoes, drums or
rotors, and manual clutches.
 |
 |
23. Will a service contract pay for a problem that the
vehicle has when I get the service contract?
Extended service contracts are not meant to cover problems
that exist with a vehicle at the time the service contract
is obtained. Such problems are called “pre-existing”
conditions, and service contract companies do not approve
claims for them. Whether a problem is a pre-existing
condition is determined by the repair facility or the
service contract company.
