This is a Exclusionary Policy: The most comprehensive extended warranty available. It is typically referred to as a "Bumper to Bumper" policy. Plan covers repairs of all parts on the vehicle for breakdown and failure
due to normal wear and tear, except the following...
YOUR EXTENDED SERVICE CONTRACT DOES NOT PROVIDE COVERAGE FOR, OR APPLY TO, THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS: EXCLUSIONS:
(This is what is not covered, everything else is…) Physical damage; alignment of bumper/body/trim parts; glass; lenses, fuses, fiber optics, burned out lights, lamps, bulbs, LED’s or any other illumination device; wiper blades; bright metal; jacks; fasteners or retainers (e.g. nuts, bolts, clips, screws, pins, studs, brackets, clamps, rivets, snap rings, etc.); safety restraint devices, fuel filler and radiator caps; seat tracks; electronic choke; paint; rust; upholstery; sun visors/sunshades or roller blind components/motors, Quadra Steer/ All Wheel steering components; plastic or plastic-like items such as, but not limited to: plastic valve covers or intake manifolds, cup holders, tanks; hinges, moldings, bezels or consoles; keys or key chips; heated steering wheel; electronic spoiler; any remote devices; carpet; rubber or rubber-like items; convertible top/window; vinyl top; weather-strips; squeaks and rattles or any other noise; interior/exterior ornamentation; video entertainment systems (limited coverage is available as an option); appliances; cameras; web access/phone systems; command center/modules; pneumatic suspension systems; voice-activated devices; body sheet metal, bumpers, body panels, structural framework, welds; water leaks; wind leaks/noise; sealants/caulking tubes, materials/shop supplies, hazardous waste/disposal charges and other maintenance parts and services. Also excluded are: wheels, wheel balancing, rims, valve stems, wheel covers; tires (other than expenses as outlined under Section Nine “TIRE ROAD HAZARD COVERAGE”). All aftermarket parts or accessories, whether installed by the manufacturer or not, including but not limited to: CB Radios, cellular phones, audio systems, high performance parts and/or accessories, performance chips, injectors, performance upgrades. WEAR AND TEAR Included: Provides Coverage when a failure occurs due to the covered part having worn beyond the manufacturer’s tolerances allowed for the particular Vehicle at the mileage when the Breakdown occurs. Roadside Assistance YOUR DEDUCTIBLE IS WAIVED FOR THE BENEFITS LISTED BELOW: SUBSTITUTE CAR RENTAL: When a covered Failure occurs and Your vehicle must remain at an authorized Repair Facility, We will pay or reimburse You to rent a substitute vehicle (excluding fuel charges, optional insurance, taxes, mileage, etc.). Such expense shall be limited to a maximum of thirty dollars ($30) per day, for a maximum of five (5) days per occurrence ($150 total). Your car rental benefit is based upon the number of labor hours required to perform covered repairs as listed in a nationally recognized time guide. Each eight (8) hours of listed labor, or a portion thereof entitles You to one (1) day of rental coverage. Example: 0.1 to 8 hours equals one (1) day, 8.1 hours to 16 hours equals two (2) days, etc. The substitute vehicle must be rented from a licensed auto rental agency. This coverage does not apply to time waiting for parts or other delays beyond the control of the Repair Facility or Administrator. In the event of a major component (engine or transmission) replacement, a maximum of three (3) days parts delay coverage may be afforded provided additional authorization is obtained from Us. Car rental benefits are not provided for: delays due to Repair Facility scheduling, weekends, holidays, or for repairs not covered by Your VSA (Except where prohibited by law). TOWING COVERAGE: When a covered Failure (Excluding Convenience Benefits) disables Your Vehicle, We will pay or reimburse Your expense for towing the Vehicle to an authorized Repair Facility. Such expense shall be limited to a maximum of seventy-five dollars ($75). A licensed towing company must perform the towing (Except where prohibited by law). TIRE ROAD HAZARD COVERAGE: In the event Your Vehicle’s tire incurs damage from a road hazard and the remaining tire tread depth is at least six thirty-seconds of an inch (6/32”), We will pay or reimburse Your expense to repair the tire. If the tire cannot be repaired and must be replaced, We will pay or reimburse Your expense to replace the tire. The maximum allowance for each tire repair is twenty dollars ($20). The maximum allowance for each tire replacement is one hundred dollars ($100). Allowances do not include towing, tire disposal charges, valve stems, taxes, balancing, tire rotation, etc. This benefit is limited to one (1) incident per year or a $200 aggregate lifetime limit (Except where prohibited by law). LOCKOUT ASSISTANCE: In the event the keys for Your Vehicle are lost, broken, or accidentally locked in Your Vehicle, We will pay or reimburse Your expense for the services of a licensed locksmith to unlock Your vehicle. Such expense shall be limited to a maximum of twenty-five dollars ($25) per incident, one (1) incident per year, and a $50 aggregate lifetime limit (Except where prohibited by law). TRIP INTERRUPTION PROTECTION: In the event a Failure covered by this VSA occurs more than one hundred (100) miles from Your home, We will reimburse You up to fifty dollars ($50) per day for up to three (3) consecutive days for receipted motel/restaurant expenses. The date of Failure will be considered the first day of the three (3) day maximum period (Except where prohibited by law).
REQUIRED OPTIONS (IF APPLICABLE): DIESEL: All related components in Your selected coverage/component groups along with the hydraulic fuel booster unit. Seals and gaskets for this group of components are covered only in conjunction with a covered repair. TURBO/SUPERCHARGER: (OEM Equipment only) Turbocharger or supercharger unit, supercharger drive pulley. Seals and gaskets for this group of components are covered only in conjunction with a covered repair.
BUSINESS USE: Limited to vehicles used primarily for delivery, route work, service use, agricultural use or repair use not involving regular multiple drivers or weight or towing in excess of manufacturer’s recommendations. Vehicles used commercially for rental, taxi, limousine, shuttle, towing, road repair operations, construction, job site activities, police, emergency service (including crowd control and the like), principally off road use or snow removal (unless your vehicle qualifies for the “Snow Plow” option and you purchase it) are still excluded. LIFTED VEHICLE: If your vehicle has been modified with a lift kit up to a maximum of four (4) inches from the vehicle manufacturer’s original specifications and the installation of the lift kit included a body lift, we will waive the exclusion relating to “lift kits” shown in Section Eight below if this option is purchased. The lift kit equipment itself is not covered. SNOW PLOW: If your vehicle was designed to handle a snowplow or to plow snow without a modification to the vehicle, we will waive the exclusion relating to “snow removal” vehicles shown in Section Eight below if this option is purchased. The snowplow equipment itself is not covered. REAR AXLES: If your vehicle is factory equipped with rear axles, this option must be purchased in order for your vehicle to be covered by this VSA and we will waive any provision within the contract that states otherwise. V-10 ENGINE: If your vehicle is factory equipped with a V-10 engine, this option must be purchased in order for your vehicle to be covered by this VSA and we will waive any provision within the contract that states otherwise. GREY MARKET VEHICLES - USED (available for Asian and United States manufacturers only): If your vehicle was manufactured for sale in Canada and imported to the United States, your vehicle is eligible for coverage for our stated term (e.g. 12 months/ 12,000 miles and the like) coverage only. This option must be purchased under this circumstance and a notarized odometer statement must be attached verifying the actual miles of the vehicle at time of purchase. We will then waive our specific exclusion in Section Eight relating to “Grey Market Vehicles”. GREY MARKET VEHICLES - NEW (available for Asian and United States manufacturers only): If your vehicle was manufactured for sale in Canada and imported to the United States, the manufacturer’s warranty may be void. Purchase of this option enables you to obtain coverage for your vehicle provided that your vehicle is being sold as a new vehicle. We will then waive our specific exclusion in Section Eight relating to “Grey Market Vehicles”. SALVAGE/BRANDED TITLES (Except for Flood Damage): If your Vehicle has a “Salvage Title” , “Branded Title”, has been considered a “Lemon” under any state statute or has been subject to a “Manufacturer’s Buyback” program, we will waive the exclusion listed in Item L. under Section Eight below if this option is purchased. For stated term (e.g. 36 months/ 36,000 miles and the like) programs the coverage shall begin in accordance with the terms of this VSA. For ending miles terms (i.e. those that end when the vehicle reaches a certain mileage or age), coverage will not begin under this option until the Vehicle reaches the normal factory warranty expiration time and/or miles for your Vehicle. If Your Vehicle’s “Salvaged” or “Branded” title is the result of flood damage, Your Vehicle is not eligible for coverage under this VSA. PREVIOUS RENTAL/FLEET CAR: If Your Vehicle was used as a rental car or in a fleet (including government fleet vehicles) by a previous owner or lessor, we will waive the specific exclusion relating to previous rental cars shown in Section Eight below if you purchase this option. FLEX FUEL/HYBRID: If Your Vehicle is a “flex fuel” or “gas and electric hybrid” vehicle, we will waive the specific exclusion for these vehicles shown in Section Eight if you purchase this option.
OPTIONAL COVERAGES: EMISSION SYSTEM ONLY (Limited to vehicles with less than 50,000 miles on the odometer at time of VSA purchase): Mass air flow sensor, MAP sensor, 02 sensor, EGR/EFE valve, EGR/EFE thermal vacuum switch, air pump, canister purge solenoid, deceleration valve, knock sensor. VIDEO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM: If your vehicle is equipped with a video entertainment system, you may purchase this option and we will waive the exclusion relating to video entertainment systems. Our coverage is limited to the repair or replacement of overhead monitors, videocassette recorders and DVD players. Headrest monitors, wiring repairs and/or cleanings are NOT covered. |
